- AVG 2011 add ons are the cause.
- Since then we have changed the Safe Search plugin for AVG 2012 and AVG 2013.
- I found that it hung/froze on every launch until I disabled the AVG Safe Search extension (from AVG 2011).
- Logged in as a local admin, I was able to disable the AVG Safe Search extension and it worked fine.
- Disable Browser Add-Ons If running Internet Explorer with no browser add-ons fixed your problem, you can disable the add-ons one by one to identify the one causing the problem.

Give local admin access to whatever user, run fix it, remove admin ? this content I have tried resetting IE as suggested in several online forums and also tried downloading a portable version of "Fix it" on my main PC; neither solution worked.
