I could have taken it to a women tech in town for the same price and shewould have had it fixed in 48 hours or less.. I keep good backups, but I'll be damned to have to re-install everything.I ran the cleanmgrfix.reg file, re-booted, the error persisted. everything!I re-booted the machine and found that it had eaten its self alive - the OS wouldn't start and I had to repair from the set-up disk. The cleanup took AGES - the machine didn't freeze or anything - the 2GB of RAM in this machine was sufficient I think, but as I was watching it - suddenly

If that does not work, download the free Ccleaner, it works even better than disc cleanup I agree, CCleaner is great, however I'm not sure if I dare to use it If it's because you expect to see an option showing how much space will be freed - you won't see that.
