Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in file_field_presave() (line 220 of \modules\file\file.field.inc). This prompted me to check the permissions on the js folder in sites/default/files and as it turns out apache could not write to it so by changing the permissions to 775 By doing this i got a more specific message: The file permissions could not be set on public://js. I am getting permission error for profile/site/theme/themename/assets/css folder in error log.

If Drupal want's to write file's to the file system, the user www-data (that's the Apache user) needs permission the write in that directory. This may be caused by a problem with file or directory permissions. and well guess i can live with that since it is for testing, then I just have to put in the tokens when im done....
