I would recommend using gparted which is freely available on any ubuntu live cd. When I first got it, the hard drive it came with wouldn't boot so I put in another one I had left over (I upgraded my hard drive a while ago). so you need to start diskpart…. It worked perfectly. Your procedure it's perect! There must have been some corruption in the BCD that nothing else was touching.

January 22, 2009 helder its simple ,you have 2 drives that are both measured as the master drives for the system and one has to be changed to work as the the reason why your getting BOOTMGR is missing is because windows is still installed on your hard drive somewhere.
